Environmental Responsibility
Since the beginning of its operations, our technology in Volatile Corrosion Inhibitors (VCI) has been recognized as synonymous with “environmentally friendly technology” because it was developed to eliminate steps in the degreasing processes of metal parts, which generate effluents. In addition to being considered clean, VCI technology has eliminated the use of highly polluting chemical degreasers. It also removed the need for water and time spent washing parts, as components packaged with VCI do not require grease for corrosion/oxidation protection.
In 2007 and 2008, our commitment to the environment progressed to include the rationalization of waste generation. Leveraging the expertise and technology of our R&D department, significant investments were made in the production of an additive—V-active® technology—to be used in water-based or oil-based formulations. These activated products operate throughout the client’s production chain, significantly helping to eliminate raw material waste caused by rapid oxidation.
VCI Brasil’s activities are licensed by environmental agencies in accordance with Brazilian legislation. Industrial waste generated is recycled or properly disposed of without harming the environment.
At VCI Brasil, recycling is encouraged through compartments properly identified (in accordance with CONAMA regulations) and strategically placed in designated areas within its facility. The recycling process involves sorting different materials, compacting them, and delivering them to the appropriate entities.

Since its founding, VCI Brasil has been a company committed to fulfilling its duties to its diverse stakeholders. In 2003, it intensified its corporate social responsibility by joining the first SRE Program for Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility for suppliers of Belgo Mineira, now ArcelorMittal, in partnership with Instituto Ethos.
From this experience, the company began sharing the practices of large corporations with both its internal and external audiences. Since then, VCI Brasil has been carrying out actions aimed at raising awareness and mobilizing its employees and the community to care for the future and help transform lives.
