VCI Brasil has been operating in the packaging engineering market since 1990. It is one of the pioneering companies to dedicate itself to the anti-corrosive segment using VCI - volatile corrosion inhibitor.

Started its journey in the packaging engineering market in 1990, becoming one of the pioneers in anti-corrosion packaging with VCI (volatile corrosion inhibitor) technology in Brazil. Aligned with the development of the anti-corrosion industry in Brazil and worldwide, VCI Brasil has evolved its products and services, developing packaging machines and anti-corrosion fluids, thus offering a complete and integrated anti-corrosion solution for industry and logistics.

Nossa História

1990

Start of Activities: Representation and distribution of anti-corrosion papers. Beginning of customization and production in formats more suitable for the automotive industry.

1990-92

Increase in CKD Exports: CKD exports, completely free of greasy protectants, with parts entering directly into the production line for the first time in Latin America. Development of the first corrosion inhibitor with proprietary technology, nitrite-based.

1993-95

Entry into the Steel Market: Launch of the P400, a paper with a nitrite-free inhibitor. Construction of the first steel coil packaging machine – electrical system and manual operation. This marked a significant approach to the steel market. The steel coil banding packaging system was created.

1996-98

Environmental Evolution: First formulation of the VCI Brazil volatile multi-metal corrosion inhibitor, without nitrite salts. Elimination of powder sachets – no chemical powder waste.

1999-2000

Process Improvement: Construction of the first MEC 1600 – Coil Packaging Machine with chain system – automatic and manual modes – VCI patent in Brazil. Development of the VCI Brazil masterbatch for the production of VCI films – greater versatility in anti-corrosion packaging.

2001-02

Chemical Evolution: Development of chemical compounds – free from acute toxicity.

2004-06

New Technology: Development of V-active technology – creation of base formulas. First fluids developed for Petrobras – introduction to the concepts of Preservation and Hibernation.

2009-11

Breakthrough: Use of water as the VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor): Consolidation of water as a carrier for corrosion inhibitors. Acceptance of the thesis on the chemical protection of water with the corrosion inhibitor by UPCE (University of Pardubice – Czech Republic). Beginning of the contract with Samuel Strapping Chicago.

2012-14

Consolidation of water-based fluids: Approval, certification, and consolidation of water-based fluids with manufacturers and their suppliers. First exports of fluids to the Oil & Gas market.

2017-18

New Lines:
Launch of the WB Line (motorcycles) and AF Line (agro-industrial). Adjustments of products to the variables found in the field. Investment in developing a culture to manufacture with water-based products, protecting the client’s assets and products at the lowest total cost.
